A coach will meet with their client on a regular basis for a pre-determined number of sessions (for instance 6-12 sessions over a three to 12 month period).
Each session focuses on an agreed development area and is aimed at equipping the leader with resources to put the resources into practice once the coaching plan is complete.
In most cases, a leadership coaching agreement will involve a key stakeholder in the organisation, such as the executive’s direct manager, who acts as the sponsor. The sponsor’s intentions and the client’s intentions are combined to form a coaching plan which will ensure the individual and the organisation benefit from the success of the coaching.
The coaching relationship and content is strictly confidential and will not be shared with the sponsor – other than to report outcomes.
